I'm featured in the LEGGERS NEWS NOV 13th - Week 16 of 34

LEGGERS always inspire

At the LA LEGGERS, there is no shortage of inspiring stories.  Here is the story of Ray Steding, who just killed it at Revel Big Bear.  Congrats Ray on your accomplishments!

I'm 62, an insulin dependent diabetic, and this season is my second season with the LA LEGGERS. During 2017, I ran with the 9.5 pace group on short distances, then fell back with the 11s for the longer runs. During the 2018 LA Marathon, I encountered cramping near the end and finished with the time of 5 hours and 9 minutes. During the off-season, I continued running with the 11s on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as an occasional long Saturday run. I struggled through the Leona Divide 50K Ultra with a time of 9 hours and 17 minutes but kept running trails and streets. On October 14th of this year, I ran the Revel Big Bear marathon in 4 hours and 9 minutes: an average pace of 9.5 minutes per mile! I wanted to express my gratitude for what the LA LEGGERS gives me and let you know that the friendships, perseverance, and successes changed my life in ways that I never imagined possible.
