Griffith Park 50K PreRun Practice.

The practice run today July 29, 2018, was a 4.2-mile trail up to approximately the elevation of the observatory and then down to and through the Bat Cave that is in the Batman movies for a total of 8.4 miles. But, as usually happens myself and another guy running out in front got lost on the way back and ran 14 miles total. I had a fun morning and it was nice to see Keira and to run with her husband since he is a really great runner and knows how to keep in shape. I asked him about running and got back a lot of good intel.

The Bulldog Loop - Malibu State

The Bulldog Pre-runners on the first pre-run. This was a fun group to get to meet and run with.

The way that we run this course is counter-clockwise and the distance is 15.5 miles and not 14.6 as in the description. My practice run's goal is to achieve the distance in under 3 hours. The only difficult part is near the beginning of the course where a 3.4-mile steep ascent leads to the top of the mountains. I plan to run the 50K (31 miles) at the end of August 2018. My first practice run today on June 30th was fantastic and difficult. I walked uphill a lot today and learned the route but got lost once which added an extra mile. I don't have any soreness at this time although I expect some tomorrow because I got a good workout.

These photos come from AllTrails. I did not take them.
